David Villarrubia owns The Degas House Museum on New Orleans’ historic Esplanade Avenue. Artist Edgar Degas, a leading French Impressionist in the late 1800s, lived in the house while visiting his mother’s family. During his visit in 1873, Degas painted one of his most famous works — Portrait in a New Orleans Cotton Office.

David tells us about Degas; he also describes how he sees that New Orleans has become a stronger city than before Hurricane Katrina.
