New Orleans Voices: John Baron

John Baron is the Schawe Professor of Music in the music department at Newcomb College. The School of Music, founded in 1909, is 100 years old this year, and Baron describes several of the many performances planned as part of the celebration. He points out that in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the music department is more vital than ever and students’ attitudes have also changed. "They’re more serious," he says.
