Joe Adams lives in the Faubourg St. John neighborhood, near Bayou St. John. Joe describes himself as a contractor by trade and an artist by compulsion. According to Joe, he create art not because he wants to, but rather because he has no choice. Joe uses many of his numerous construction skills when he makes his art. Recently, he installed one of his fountains in front of his Bell Street home. Joe’s beautiful work uses ballast stones he found in the Faubourg Marigny. Joe’s fountain is an example of the vibrant creative energy that runs through many New Orleans neighborhoods, where residents incorporate art into every aspect of their environments.
