Paul Ferrara is a native New Orleanian and famed jazz drummer who was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2009. If you have any interest in the history of the French Quarter or of music in New Orleans, you will love this interview. Paul shares his memories of Al Hirt, Louis Prima, and many other legendary New Orleans musicians. He recalls his beginnings, playing strip clubs on Bourbon Street at the age of 14, and his appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show performing with Al Hirt. Because Paul’s stories are so interesting, I decided to make this a two-part podcast. Listen in next week for the second installment of Paul Ferrara. LISTEN NOW!
