David Skinner is general manager of the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Skinner describes the significant damage the theater sustained during Hurricane Katrina and also talks about the process of getting Broadway shows back to the theater. Skinner recounts how, through the hard work and efforts of many individuals, our local theater lovers’ hopes that New Orleans could once again support major Broadway shows were fulfilled when the theater reopened in 2009.
