NEW ORLEANS (press release) – This January, Intramural Theater presents the regional premiere of “Timbuktu, USA” by Ken Prestininzi. Premiering at The New Marigny Theatre on Friday, Jan. 24, and running through Feb. 3, the play tells the story of Kelly Kilkenny, a decorated career politician who formulates a devious plot to attain the ultimate seat of power – the American presidency. Kilkenny will stop at nothing to claim the highest seat in the land, but the men (and the monkey) in her life stand in her way. The production, directed by company member Elizabeth Frenchie Faith, features Lauren Wells (The Bermuda Can Company), Jon Greene (Artistic Director – The Radical Buffoons), Benjamin Dougherty (Kingdom of Earth), and Becca Chapman (Co-Executive Director – Prescription Joy).
