NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Compère Lapin at the Old No. 77 Hotel, Chef Nina Compton’s flagship eatery for sumptuous eats and creative cocktails, will welcome in the new year with a collaborative dinner with Guest Chef Yoshi Okai, the culinary visionary behind Austin’s award-winning omakase restaurant, Otoko. The 10-course dinner will take place on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 with two seatings at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Known for his infectious smile, passion for punk rock and unparalleled talent, Okai has earned raves and accolades for his 12-seat Austin restaurant which focuses on Tokyo-style sushi and Kyoto-style kaiseki. For one night only, the talented toque will join forces with Compton to create an unforgettable menu that showcases each Chef’s heritage combined with their respective home towns. Guests will enjoy 10 tantalizing courses that blend Okai’s native Kyoto with an Austin flare and Compton’s Caribbean roots with Louisiana’s bounty.
