Guests gathered for the 30th annual Boys Hope Girls Hope Fall Gala to celebrate and support the empowerment and of underprivileged children in the Greater New Orleans area on Friday, September 9. The program, which seeks to provide children ages 10 through 18 with a positive environment where they can successfully hone in on lifelong skills, has been active in New Orleans since 1980.
Chairperson Lori Babin led this year’s “All You Need is Love” gala, inspired by the support of the community. A red carpet led supporters through an ornate chuppah adorned with flowers into the 1960s-themed gala complete with tie-dyed backdrops and heart shaped decorations donated by Ad Graphics. Sha’on and the Girls with Success sent Motown tunes and classics ringing through the park, while the aroma of delectable dishes such as PF Chang’s lettuce wraps, Hurricane barbecue and Seafood barbecue chicken, and Koz’s red beans and rice, filled the air. Guests indulged during the silent auction on luxuries such as an Alexis Bittar bracelet donated by Hiller Jewelry, a stay in a New York City apartment and an in-house dinner with a private chef. The event brought approximately 300 guests together at the Pavilion of Two Sisters in City Park, raising record-breaking proceeds that will provide children with value-centered, family-like homes and opportunities including education through college.
