NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The holidays are for the dogs! Friends – both human and canine – can celebrate at NOLA City Bark’s inaugural “Howliday Market & Parade”. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome to attend. This inaugural event is sponsored by Mid-city Vet, Lakeview Vet, Lou Mehrige, Jefferson Feed, Gary Hughes – State Farm, and Metairie Small Animal Hospital.

Take photos with Santa. Join the parade. Have fun shopping over 30 vendors and with a raffle, food and, of course, adoptable dogs, too.

Costume contest:

Your dog could win BIG! Dogs can win an array of prizes provided by Camp Bow Wow – Mid City. Fee per dog entered: $10 pre-registration and $15 day-of to join the pet parade/enter the contest. Link.

Contest judges include: Stacy Brady from Entercom; Audrey Hess from Mid City Veterinary Hospital; Clare Guichard from Lakeview Veterinary Hospital; Curt Sprang from WGNO News with a Twist; Kat Vance from Bayou 95.7; Annette Wade from Magic 101.9; T-Pot from B97.

Costume categories are “Best in Show”, “Most Creative”, “Naturally Nawlins”, “Team Spirit”, and “Twinsies”.

Adoptions:

Dog adoptions available on site with the following rescue groups: Zeus Place, Inner Pup, Take Paws, Humane Society of LA, Louisiana SPCA, Blue Tails, New Orleans Bulldog Rescue

Parade:

The parade will be led by the New Orleans Saint’s Gumbo, the Cherry Bombs, and MC Chrissy with B97 and we’ll celebrate with music form Rocky Bourg, Music by Request. Parade: 3pm (parade line up at 2:30pm)

WHEN: Saturday, Dec, 14: event: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and parade: 3 p.m.

WHERE: New Orleans City Park Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn: 6 Victory Ave. (please note: this event is not at the dog park)

COST: Free admission for humans and dogs, too
