NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Big Red Box Program is a barrier free food pantry in at risk and demographically diverse communities started by local nonprofit Gladewaves. By working with small neighborhood churches and organizations, the program provides a place where the community can work together to meet the food needs of their neighborhood.
During the month of December, Gladewaves is hosting a “Light up the Box” event at all eight of the Big Red Box locations. Ashley Bateman, owner of NOLA Flora will decorate each of the Big Red Boxes on different days throughout the month, and Gladewaves will distribute 200 hot meals* to the community to celebrate.
