NEW ORLEANS (press release): Dark Garden Corsetry, a 30 year old San Francisco-based company specializing in hand-made corsets and couture ensembles, will host the official Grand Opening party for their New Orleans boutique just in time for the holiday season. The party will be held at their 3528 Magazine St. location on Saturday, Sept. 28, 7-10 p.m.
Dark Garden is more than a clothing boutique; they sell the distilled essence of adult dress-up and make-believe. In 1989, founder Autumn Adamme started her company from a love of theatrical and historical costuming and is deeply inspired by the magic and history of New Orleans. She says, “I adore this crazy city and the wild energy here. I love sharing our creations and seeing people appreciate themselves in a new light. I invite everyone to come in and play dress-up with us.”
The New Orleans boutique is the very first additional location in their 30 year history, and Dark Garden is enjoying becoming part of local culture here. They already have plans to collaborate with Bourbon French Parfums to create a signature fragrance, and will be showcasing 18 looks on the runway at New Orleans Fashion Week.
At the September 28 Grand Opening you can expect to find:
● In-person attendance by all 3 San Francisco designers, including founder Autumn Adamme
● Live burlesque & music performances
● Raffles and Grand Opening specials on corsets, accessories, and more
● Traditional jazz DJ’d on classic 78 vinyl
● Beverages and hors d’oeuvres
