NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Our entire world and all of the small businesses that make it go round are hurting these days, including our own restaurant industry, but our true heroes in the healthcare industry are protecting communities and fighting the good fight. Which is why Commander’s Palace is eager to partner with the Krewe of Red Beans – Feed the Frontline NOLA in their efforts to provide meals for those heroes on the front line everyday while also supporting the local restaurants preparing the meals and supporting musicians and artists who deliver the food. It’s a win-win-win: give business to small and independent operators who are out of work to show support for front line workers and their incredible work in fighting against COVID-19.
Commander’s Palace is honored to fall second in line behind Feed the Front Line NOLA to assist in these efforts. Today alone, Feed the Frontline NOLA is feeding over 1,900 hospital workers in all 15 hospitals in New Orleans. And while doing so, they are supporting over 35 local NOLA restaurants, 53 percent of which are women owned and 31% minority owned, and providing jobs for local musicians. Since the start, they’ve pumped over a quarter of a million back into the economy! They don’t want to stop until it’s over, but only have funds for the next three days.
The team at Commander’s is eager to get into the kitchen to cook for our heroes once our kitchen is back up and running. They are offering those who are sheltering at home an opportunity to learn recipes directly from the team through video demos of some of our favorite dishes and cocktails, including Turtle Soup and Pecan Pie. We will be asking for donations from viewers for Feed the Frontline NOLA.
