“Odyssey 2020: An Epic Journey presented by IBERIABANK | First Horizon” welcomed small groups to the New Orleans Museum of Art in November and December 2020 for three art- and music-themed evenings, offering an evening of the fun from past fundraisers while adhering to local and state safety regulations during the pandemic.
Guests enjoyed curated music playlists for each evening: “New Orleans Jazz” on November 6, and “Sinatra and Swing” on November 13 (when these photos were taken) and 14. NOMA expert curators also led special tours of NOMA’s collection.
Guests were seated in the spectacular and newly renovated Coleman Courtyard for a four-course dinner by Ralph Brennan Catering & Events and sipped on cocktails by Sazerac Co. Roland Monteleagre with Urban Earth created themed table centerpieces for each evening, accompanied by linens, chairs and china from Perrier Party Rentals. The NOMA Volunteer Committee also created floral arrangements in the Great Hall Urns for each evening.
The Event Chairs were Carla Adams, Juli Miller Hart, Jennefer Heebe, Cammie Mayer, Robyn Dunn Schwarz and Brent Wood.
Funds raised through “Odyssey Ball,” which are more needed than ever due to the ongoing pandemic, provide opening support to NOMA, allowing the museum to serve the community with art, education and programmatic initiatives as well as retain staff and create innovative virtual content.
NOMA planned to host two additional evenings in early December themed “Studio 54|Warhol.” These evenings were postponed due to COVID restrictions, though NOMA hopes to reschedule these evenings in the spring of 2021.
