NEW ORLEANS – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art announced final days of accepting summer intern applications.
April 18 is the last day to apply for this cohort of teens – grades 8 – 10 – that allows participates the space to develop their creative voice.
Over the first five weeks, teens will train, learn and assist with Fine Arts Fundamentals Camp. Following those weeks, teen interns will have a three-week intensive. According to the Ogden, this intensive will feature museum career exploration, community outreach, engagement with other cultural institutions and art workshops.
In addition to the summer internship, during the year the cohort will meet monthly for artist workshops, plus a curation of a teen exhibition and assisting the museum with programming.
The Teen Internship Program, formerly the Ogden Museum Teen Docent Program, will give the interns a stipend of $1000 for the eight-week program, and $50 per monthly meeting during the school year.
The Ogden notes, teens meet Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. during June and July and once monthly for 4-8 hours during the school year. A commitment to the year-long program is required.
