NEW ORLEANS – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art announced it will host an Art Studi-O event focused on a hand beading series.
This series will be a three-part series with Marwan Pleasant, a Black Masking Indian artist with over 20 years of experience. The idea behind the series is that artists learn the cultural insight and technical skill of this longstanding craft and artistry.
Throughout the series, organizers share that participants will learn intermediate beading techniques using a variety of seed beads, gems and sequins to create a unique embellished brooch pin. Additionally, those in the series will learn the foundations of hand beading, advanced techniques and leave with a finished brooch pin.
All workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. All materials are provided. All levels are welcome.
