Ogden Museum to Host Ogden Nite Market

NEW ORLEANS – The Odgen Museum of Southern Art is hosting a special Nite Market next Thursday, May 22. The event, taking place from 6 to 8 p.m., will be in celebration of the exhibition Hoa Tay (Flower Hands): Southern Artists of the Vietnamese.

The museum shares that the event will also feature lion and Vietnamese fan dance performances, as well as craft-making by VIET (Vietnamese Initiative in Economic Training), food trucks and more.

Event organizers shared two special events in addition to the market and entertainment:

  • book signing with Author E.M. Tran. She will be signing her book “Daughters of the New Year,” which is also the museum’s official summer reading book and will be a focus of a Curated Conversation in July.
  • A book signing with Top Chef contestant and acclaimed chef Nini Nguyen. She will be signing her cookbook “Dặc Biệt.” Born and raised in New Orleans by Vietnamese immigrants, Nini presents recipes that fuse the best of Vietnamese and New Orleans cooking.

The event is free for museum members, $15 for non-members and $7 for children.
