
NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art has announced a photography summer camp. The museum shares camp participants have the opportunity to discover a new way of seeing and explore digital photography in a fun and exciting summer Photography Camp. Campers will learn the basic elements of photography such as composition, exposure, lighting and the functions of the camera while creating meaningful and thought-provoking work.
Campers will also explore elements of photography such as storytelling, portraiture and documentary through daily field trips to area arts institutions. Back in the classroom, campers will practice art critique and build a portfolio of work.
To close out the week-long program, campers will select work from their portfolio to showcase in a student-curated exhibition opening on White Linen Night at Ogden Museum.
The camp includes two sessions, one for grades 6-8 and the other for grades 9-12.
