The Komen Summer Chefs Wine Cure Dinner was the perfect combination of fundraising and summer fun on the evening of July 22. Chaired by Louellen Berger, Patricia Denechaud and Dottie Reese, and coordinated by Joe Briand and Sara Kavanaugh, the dinner was held at the Windsor Court Hotel, and featured culinary delights that were made by a multitude of prominent chefs including Drew Dzejak of the Grill Room; Justin Devillier of La Petite Grocery; Torre Bagalman and David Solazzo of Ristorante Del Porto; and Kristyne Bouley of the Link Restaurant Group. The five-course feast was paired with wines donated by various local vendors, and guests also entertained themselves by bidding on items in silent and live auctions. Master of Ceremonies was Mark Romig.
By the end of the night, guests left satisfied, from the food and drink, and also from knowing they each had contributed greatly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure New Orleans affiliate, which recognizes an urgent need to save lives and end breast cancer forever. The organization has a 25-year history of patient advocacy, building awareness and raising funds for research and community programs.
