NEW ORLEANS (press release) – February brings exciting happenings to Omni Royal Orleans, as the hotel celebrates the official reopening of Rib Room following a thoughtful refresh of its space and menu — just in time for Mardi Gras 2026. Helmed by executive chef Dan Dienemann, whose three-decade career includes work with renowned names like Gordon Ramsay, Wolfgang Puck and Todd English, the restaurant is refreshed with Parisian touches, updated private dining spaces and warm finishes that preserve its storied charm while feeling freshly intimate.
The team shares that the enhanced lunch and dinner menus feature classic Rib Room dishes plus new creations that are soon to be favorites, including the 28-Day Prime Rib with rosemary-tellicherry crust, Worcestershire jus, horseradish crème and Yorkshire pudding; Crab Cake with blue crab, caviar and shallot beurre blanc; Crispy Oysters with Creole cream cheese, sweet chile corn crunch and black garlic molasses glaze; Jerk Lamb Rack with olive jus; and Mustard-Fried Flounder with tartar beurre blanc. Brunch highlights include Crab Benedict with toasted Gambino, jumbo crab, avocado, poached eggs, trinity hash and hollandaise; Grillades & Grits with braised prime rib, poached eggs and tomato confit; and Cinnamon Rolls with cream cheese, caramel and candied pecans.
On Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Rib Room will offer an exclusive menu featuring festive favorites. Breakfast selections include Chocolate Babka French Toast and Cornmeal Ricotta Pancakes, while lunch and dinner highlights feature Crawfish Étouffée with popcorn rice; Creole Daube Dip with shaved prime rib, horseradish crème, Creole daube jus, Leidenheimer Pistolet and house-pickled vegetables; and Half Chicken with red-eye gravy chow chow.
Adding to the February festivities, acclaimed singer-songwriter Tabitha Meeks will perform at Three Maries Jazz Club from 6 to 9 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18. Known for her retro-inspired sound and soulful blend of folk, jazz and pop, Meeks brings an effortless style that feels right at home in the intimate 68-seat jazz club. The show is free and open to the public, with reservations available through OpenTable. Before the performance, the hotel will host a “Girl of the Hour” Happy Hour featuring a meet and greet with Meeks from 5 to 6 p.m. at The Royal Bar. Featured drink specials include the “Girl of the Hour” Cocktail with Nordés Gin, St-Germain, rose water, clear sour and hibiscus tincture ($15), discounted house wine ($12) and beer ($6).
The newly opened jazz club features live performances from celebrated New Orleans musicians alongside elevated craft cocktails and small plates, while The Royal Bar offers an elegant European glasshouse-inspired space for aperitifs and cocktails.
