New Orleans and New York have a lot more in common than being historically rich cities with amazing entertainment and musical centers. Both cities’ culture will make an appearance together to help Touro Infirmary raise funds for the Touro Infirmary Foundation. Touro Infirmary’s first major fundraising event, The Big Easy Meets The Big Apple, will take place October 10 in the legendary Blue Room at The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Collection Hotel. Gala Chairwoman Nancy Bissinger, Honorary Co-Chair Odom Heebe, President of the Touro Infirmary Foundation Board Bobby Bories and Jeri Nims, a major sponsor of the event, grace our cover and have been working feverishly to make this event one to talk about.
The event will feature the best of both cities, and a patron party will be held at 6:30 p.m, featuring guitarist Javier Olando. Dinner and presentations will quickly follow the patron party, with a cabaret show featuring Brian Stokes Mitchell, Broadway star and Tony award winner. After the cabaret show, starting at 10 p.m., there will be a “Sketch and Scratch” after party featuring Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes.
DJ Beverly Skillz, who’s nationally known for her DJ battles, will also be performing at the Late Night After Party. The entire evening of first class entertainment will certainly tie New Orleans and New York together for one night.
The Big Easy Meets The Big Apple is an event not to be missed. Guest will be able to attend all three events, go to the dinner and late night party or just attend the late night party. For more information, tickets call 897-8435 or visit touro.com/gala.
