Everyone loveS a Hollywood moment: the elegance, the sumptuous clothing and costumes and, of course, a plot with drama and romance. While that era of film may be long-gone, fear not: The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is bringing it back with their annual fundraiser, A Howling Success 2009! This year’s decadent theme is “Hooray for Howlywood,” and guests are encouraged on November 14 to visit the new East Bank location of Mardi Gras World decked out as their favorite Hollywood actor.

This year’s event chairs are Shannon Jones, Donna Richardson and Lynda Woolard. Join LA/SPCA’s CEO Ana Zorilla on the glam red carpet entrance, and step inside to the Grand Oaks Mansion to enjoy tunes from Johnny Angel and the Swinging Demons along with DJ Damion Yancy on the dance floor.

Celebrity restaurateur Joel Dondis of Joel’s Catering will be cooking up delectable delicacies for patrons, in addition to a denizen of other amazing restaurants. Dr. J. Coller Oschner and D. Paul Spencer, both major sponsors of the LA/SPCA, (with dogs Pudin and Buddy Young) guarantee this is one event not to be missed!

D. Paul Spencer, president of the Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, believes in the LA/SPCA’s mission – to provide shelter and care to animals in need, and eliminate the homelessness, cruelty and neglect that plague the lives of these defenseless creatures – and the foundation sponors capital and operating efforts of the organization throughout the year.
