If you feel like taking wing, Sentimental Journeys, Longue Vue House and Gardens’ primary fundraising gala, will be the place to be on Friday, April 16.

The Patron Party on Thursday, April 15, will be held at the lovely St. Charles Avenue home of Jennifer and Frederick Heebe and will feature cuisine by Chef Michael Farrell of Le Meritage Restaurant. Longue Vue House and Gardens will host its Sentimental Journeys Gala and Auction the next evening at the new FlightLine First Hangar at Lakefront Airport.

This travel-themed gala will showcase James Beard Award-winning chef, John Currence, and his delicious Southern-style menu. Currence was selected as chef based on his culinary expertise and his commitment to New Orleans; he led a project for rebuilding the iconic Willie Mae’s Scotch House. Sentimental Journeys will be raising funds to assist in the restoration of Longue Vue House and Pontchartrain Park.

For the first time ever, Longue Vue House and Gardens is offering a Young Associates ticket price to guests under the age of 35. Advanced tables are available for purchase for the Dinner and Auction for the $2,500; $5,000; $7,500; and $10,000 levels. For more information contact Longue Vue at 488-5488 ext. 399.
