All of us have been affected by cancer in some way. On Saturday, August 20, the American Cancer Society will hold its 11th annual Hope Gala to honor those who are engaged in the fight against cancer every day.
Join Gala Chair Melissa Pennebaker, ACS Executive Director Tonya Jackson-Ramsey, ACS Executive Leadership Council President Lorrie Lee, ACS Executive Leadership Councilmember and Hope Gala Committee member Carla Adams, Ochsner Health System (the gala’s Diamond Sponsor) President and COO Warner Thomas and Ochsner Health System Executive Officer Dr. Patrick Quinlan as they honor the 2011 Spirit Awards Honorees: 12 individuals who have made significant contributions to fighting cancer in our community.
The evening, held at The Shops at Canal Place, begins at 6:30 p.m. with a patron party, where the Spirit Award Honorees will be presented their awards. At 8 p.m. on the first floor, the gala will slide into full swing with entertainment by The Bucktown All-Stars; both silent and live auctions; food from local restaurants as well as special guests from Bravo’s Top Chef series; and a special Champagne and Diamonds raffle.
The ACS is committed to saving lives and ending suffering from cancer. As a result, “11 million people in America who have cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.” Proceeds from the gala will benefit and further the ACS’ mission. Tickets and information are available at NewOrleansHope Gala.com or by calling 833-4024.
