After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city of New Orleans, many organizations stepped up to help rebuild. One of those organizations is Make It Right, whose mission is to be a catalyst for redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward by building a neighborhood comprised of safe and healthy homes that are inspired by Cradle to Cradle thinking, with an emphasis on a high quality of design, while preserving the spirit of the community’s culture.
Join chef John Besh, Make It Right executive director Tom Darden, prominent Make It Right supporter Tia Roddy and General Manager of the Hyatt Regency New Orleans Michael Smith at “A Night To Make It Right” gala presented by Hyatt Regency New Orleans on Saturday, March 10. The gala will be led by Honorary Chairman Brad Pitt and hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
The organization has attracted a long list of political leaders, philanthropists, artists and entertainers, including Mayor Mitch Landrieu and host committee members Blake Lively, Chris Paul, Randy Jackson and Sean Penn.
“A Night To Make It Right” will begin with an intimate VIP reception for major donors and dignitaries. Then, Besh will lead a team of celebrity chefs including Emeril Lagasse, Giada De Laurentiis and Mario Batali. The gala will also feature an after-dinner musical performance (which promises to be a “must-see”) and a live auction of handpicked one-of-a-kind experiences, unique celebrity-owned items and much more. There will also be an after-party featuring performances by Grammy award-winning artists Bruno Mars, Seal and more.
