The Audubon Zoo houses some of the most furry and ferocious animals from white tigers to whooping cranes in the heart of historic New Orleans. This year’s “Whitney Zoo-To-Do” is your opportunity to give back to the legendary zoo that has been serving our city since 1914.
Come out in your black ties (or white linen suits) and cocktail dresses to celebrate and support the 35th annual “Zoo-To-Do” fundraiser on Friday, May 4.
The evening will begin with a patron and sponsor party at the Jerome S. Glazer Audubon Tea Room Garden and Patron Lounge at 7 p.m. A variety of sponsorship levels are available, from “leader of the Pack Lead Sponsor” to “Jumping Jaguar Junior Patron.”
The gala begins at 8 p.m. on the zoo grounds. The event will include a silent auction featuring a multitude of items and tons of luxury vacations. A 2012 Lexus CT200h Hybrid will also be raffled off. The evening’s entertainment will be spread throughout three stages and will feature headliner The Family Stone. Over 70 local restaurants, including Monkey Hill Bar, Whole Foods and Creole Creamery, will provide delectable dining choices for attendants.
This month’s cover highlights a few of the men and women who made this year’s event possible: “Whitney Zoo-To-Do” chair Marilee Hovet, “Kids Zoo-To-Do” chair Deirdre Hooper, Ron Forman, Clifton Leblanc of Lexus, and Whitney Bank’s Joe Exnicios.
“Kids Zoo-To-Do presented by Humana” will turn the zoo into a magical playland for families on April 27.
