If you’ve been wondering how to get involved in your community and help the next generation in the process, here’s your chance. New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and The Lupin Foundation invite you to “Get Into the Act!” at Art & Soul 2008, which encourages supporters to get involved as NOCCA, our local arts conservatory, embarks on “exciting plans for its future.”

Sunday, May 18, the night begins at NOCCA’s campus with a patron party, 6-7 p.m., hosted by Ovation TV that will include savory hors d’oeuvres provided by the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, an open bar and a special performance by the Delfeayo Marsalis Quartet. Then, join co-chairs Marion and Pepper Bright; Allison and Ben Tiller; and Nan and Britt Galloway at the gala itself, which apart from a dinner buffet, silent and live auctions featuring local artists and businesses (including the painting you see above) and an open bar, will offer the music of the Charmaine Neville Band, Leah Chase, NOCCA’s Jazz and Musical Theatre students and the Alvin Batiste Legacy Band on two stages.

This is your opportunity to “Get Into the Act!” For more information and tickets, call 940-2900 or visitwww.NOCCA.com.
