The Idea Village is a nonprofit organization with a mission to identify, support and retain entrepreneurial talent in New Orleans. It has provided direct support to over 1,798 New Orleans entrepreneurs. It generates more than $100 million in annual revenue and has created more than 2,000 jobs in the Greater New Orleans area over the past 12 years.
By building what’s called an “entrepreneurial ecosystem,” The Idea Village stands by its mission by building a complex interrelated system of diverse constituencies required to ensure that entrepreneurs succeed.
Each year from July through March, The Idea Village executes an Entrepreneur Season that connects a collaborative network of local and national partners to identify, support and celebrate local start-ups. It engages a collaborative network of partners – including government, universities, corporations, nonprofits and individuals – to identify, support and retain New Orleans start-up ventures by providing educational services, strategic consulting, experiential learning and thought leadership.
