Heart disease remains the No. 1 cause of death among men and women, and heart defects among children are on the rise in Louisiana as well as the United States as a whole. Help put a stop to heart disease and come celebrate life at the 2012 “Heart and Soul Gala” benefiting the American Heart Association on Saturday, June 9.
Join 2012 “Heart & Soul Gala” chair Cleland Powell, AHA volunteer Barbara Turner Windhorst and “Heart & Soul Gala” Executive Leadership team member Donna Klein as they fête the 2012 honoree and U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.
The gala will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. A heart-healthy gourmet dinner will be served. Dessert will be hand-chosen by local chefs to accompany the meal. The event will also feature silent and live auctions with a variety of vacations ranging from Shanghai to Italy to New York City. Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Sasha Masakowski will provide the evening’s entertainment.
Event proceeds will go toward the American Heart Association’s mission to rid the nation of heart disease and defects, as well as fund research and educational programs around the United States to meet these goals.
Tickets for the 2012 “Heart & Soul Gala” are priced at $250. For tickets and information please contact 830-2300 or 473-6494.
