Out-Of-The-Box Happy Hours

New Orleans is so full of bargain happy hours that you’d have to try really hard not to find one. You can check nearly every street corner, restaurant or your favorite watering hole and there is sure to be a bartender making something great. Some are traditional and others do their best to think outside the box.

Seven Three Distilling Company (301 N. Claiborne Ave.) is having its Summer Screen Series at the distillery Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. As the sun sets on the Crescent City, the movies are on! The team here is offering two for one cocktails and a movie in the tasting room where costumes are more than welcomed. The next movie shown will be “Jaws.” The movie starts at 6 and the buy one get one happy hour runs from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. This is a happy hour we can really sink our teeth into.

The Rum House (3128 Magazine St.) is celebrating what they call the best holiday of the year, National Rum Day. You can enjoy $6 Rum Punch pretty much all day long with raffle drawings, $10 Rum Flights and $15 Captain Rum De De Dum, which is a 64 oz fishbowl tropical drink. This is going to be fun, so get lots of rest before you embark on this all day love affair with rum.

Copeland’s of New Orleans (various locations) is doing a Martini Madness special of its own. You can get martini’s for just $5 all day Friday, Aug. 16; Saturday, Aug. 17; and Friday, Aug. 23. This is a good deal to enjoy with a group of friends. In addition to the martini deals, the Copeland’s team is offering food specials, too. Check in with each location for specific details.

Ralph’s on the Park (900 City Park Ave.) is doing happy hour in a philanthropic way with Cocktails for a Cause. Throughout the month of August, 20 percent of the proceeds from the cocktail “Zelda Pays a Visit” will go toward supporting the One Book One New Orleans mission of making New Orleans a more literate city. Here you can drink up knowing you are doing it for a good cause.

These of course are just a few options for out-of-the-box happy hours. If you have a happy hour you want us to try, let us know so we can share it with cocktail lovers everywhere.
