Julia Jacklin and Black Belt Eagle Scout at Gasa Gasa Thursday

On Thursday night Australian singer/songwriter Julia Jacklin will roll into Gasa Gasa with Black Belt Eagle Scout.  Jacklin is touring on her outstanding sophomore release Crushing.  This record came out in February and is still hovering around the top of my favorite records of the year.  Crushing is an intimate and emotional exploration of the nature of personal space both physical and mental.  Jacklin has the ability to present and explore the universal aspects of intimate emotional experiences.  Check out the video for “Comfort” below.

Jacklin is joined by Black Belt Eagle Scout which is the project of Katherine Paul.  Her record from last year Mother of my Children is an amazing sonic exploration of turmoil.  Together these two artists will make for an amazing evening of music in an intimate space.
