Parade of Homes Around the Lake

Welcome to the 2008 parade of homes around the Lake.
Craig A. Berthelot – President, HBA of Greater New Orleans
It’s our great pleasure to welcome you to the HBA’s 2008 Parade of Homes Around the Lake! This year, the HBAs of Greater New Orleans and Tangipahoa have joined forces to bring to you a true powerhouse of a home tour. With homes spanning the West Bank to Hammond, from St. Bernard to the River Parishes (and all in between!), you’ll have an opportunity to visit dozens of builders and materials suppliers to talk about the latest and greatest in home construction. Please enjoy
your tour of the homes.

In addition to the parade, you will find that the HBA of Greater New Orleans provides limitless opportunities to participate and be involved in cutting-edge industry-related educational and networking events; get the latest updates on legislative, regulatory and industry news; gain access to our statewide insurance programs; and participate in our new voluntary green building program, Crescent City Green. Here are a few more areas where you can get the most out of an HBA-GNO membership:
Networking Opportunities: Offering numerous opportunities for members to meet with one another, come out and get involved with our general membership meetings, annual home and garden show, crawfish boil, HBA golf tournaments, fishing rodeo … and more!

Educational Opportunities: The HBA offers at least one educational course per month for members to keep current on topics vital to the construction and home building industry. Continuing education credits (including builder and real estate) are available.

Legislative Watchdog: We’re proud at the HBA of our legislative and regulatory efforts on behalf of our membership and the home building industry. The HBA actively lobbies and monitors local, state and federal legislation and regulations to ensure that our members’ business interests are well-represented and protected.
Marketing: Opportunities are available for HBA members to advertise in our various online and print publications, including The Home Builder, our monthly newsletter; the Parade of Homes Magazine, produced once annually; and other member directories and guides. The HBA of Greater New Orleans also produces and sponsors the annual New Orleans Home and Garden Show at the Louisiana Superdome, the largest such show in the South –– there is no better way for industry-related companies to market their products and services than at our “Show in the Dome!"

David M. Reed – President, Tangipahoa Home Builders Association
We are asked many times, “Why should I join the Tangipahoa Home Builders Association?”  Events such as this Parade of Homes Around the Lake give proof to the validity of THBA membership.  Terrific opportunities abound within the residential construction industry when builders, developers, remodelers, suppliers, subcontractors, bankers, insurance agents, realtors and the list goes on … join together to gain the advantage of numbers working in concert.  It’s rewarding to observe competitors working within the organization for a common purpose.

Additionally, our members gain insight on the industry by networking; by becoming more aware of market trends; by attending educational seminars; and by selling their ideas, services and products to a built-in market –– their fellow members.  The THBA is an active, highly respected civic group that enjoys a reputation for involvement within the community while also protecting its members on the legislative forefront.

Every THBA member is encouraged to become active within the organization, to donate their talents and enjoy being an integral part of a thriving group located in the perfect place –– between the larger cities where lifestyle is important. And just ask anyone in the association and they will tell you, “Membership Matters.”
