Passing the Torch

Sunday, December 11 proved to be an award-winning evening at the Anti-Defamation League’s “A.I. Botnick Torch of Liberty Award Dinner.” Nancy Bissinger Timm and E. Renae Conley co-chaired the event that gathered nearly 400 guests to the Roosevelt Hotel.

A sit-down dinner for attendants included classic Caesar salad, basil crusted salmon and chocolate carrot cake topped with cream cheese mousse, which were served atop tables arranged with an alluring array of roses created by Vivian Kahn.

Jewish community leader Sara Stone and Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Entergy Corporation J. Wayne Leonard were the guests of honor and the two recipients of the 2011 Anti-Defamation League’s “A.I. Botnick Torch of Liberty Award” due to their dedication to living out ADL’s ideals. Jamie Berger and Casie Zimmerman received special leadership awards due to their various contributions to the community. The Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate initiative in various schools and the program’s partnership with Entergy employees were also highlighted.
