NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Peacock Room is excited to announce the new Soulful Sessions music series taking place throughout the spring and summer. The series will be an expansion of their long-standing partnership with Da Lovebirds, led by contemporary jazz singer and “the Songbird of New Orleans” Robin Barnes, which will feature a rotating roster of New Orleans musicians chosen by Da Lovebirds and joining them in performance on stage each evening of the series.
Peacock Room has tapped the soulful R&B duo to help curate a list of talented artists for the series, kicking off with Sari Jordan on the evenings of Thursday, April 11, and Thursday, April 25. The New Jersey-born, New Orleans-based singer-songwriter will no doubt complement Da Lovebirds’ sound with their mesmerizing lyrics and voice that oscillates from smoky-sweet soft to big-hearted belt and back again. Sari released their debut EP, “Sing To The Moon,” in late 2023, a project that is an amalgamation of Sari’s kaleidoscopic influences in a succulent gumbo with Sari’s own gossamer, angelic style.
With the creation of the Soulful Sessions series, Peacock Room together with Da Lovebirds hope to further solidify the lounge as a go-to destination for some of the city’s best contemporary soul and R&B. While enjoying the performances, guests are welcome to indulge in delicious favorites like the Peacock Smash Burger, Steamed Crawfish Dumplings and NOLA Hot Chicken Sandwich, as well as a selection of can’t-miss concoctions like the El Pavo Real, made with Patron Silver, ancho chili, hibiscus and pomegranate or That’ll Do, Pig with miso and butter washed Whistle Pig 10yr Rye, Guajillo infused allspice dram, and Sichuan bitters.
