NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Fans of great music and amazing food and cocktails can keep the celebration going after the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with Jazz After Fest late shows at Peacock Room at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot on both Saturdays of the festival. Performing both nights and acting as musical curator will be Peacock Room favorite artists Da Lovebirds, the husband-and-wife duo of Robin Barnes and Pat Casey, who bring their soulful and sultry R&B back to the space that suits their sound so well.
On Saturday, April 27, between the hours of 9 p.m. and midnight, they will be joined by Grammy-award-winning artist/songwriter/producer Jamison Ross. Ross’ music emanates from the intersection of R&B, gospel and blues supported by modern production and contemporary soul. He just released his new single, “Say You Love Me,” written by the late DJ Rogers, on Valentine’s Day. Also performing on April 27 will be New Orleans-based Kristin Diable, who along with her band, The City, have performed at events including Austin City Limits Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and many stops in between. Her songs have been featured in shows including HBO’s “True Blood” and “Treme” as well as Netflix’s “Virgin River” and many others. She also participated as a judge and mentor in the Louisiana-based CBS show “Sing Like a Star.”
On the second Saturday after the fest, on May 4, Alexis Marceaux – who will also be taking the stage at this year’s festival – will bring the celebration over to Peacock Room. Marceaux, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who performs regularly with beloved New Orleans-based band Sweet Crude, is a fixture in the local music scene and is also known nationally for her role on season 3 of NBC’s “The Voice.”
Peacock Room will be serving their dinner menu until 12 a.m., including favorites like the Peacock Smash Burger, Rock Candy Braised Short Ribs and NOLA Hot Chicken Sandwich,or sharable items like the Snack Board. Cocktails will be pouring until midnight, with can’t-miss concoctions like The Jade Dragon, which is made with Roku Gin, Boomsa Cloosterbitter, coriander, pineapple, mint and lime or Rancho Escondido made with Vida Mezcal, Coruba Rum, Campari, pineapple shrub and lime.
