From an early age, Penelope Treece showed an interested in art and beauty. As a child in North Carolina, she sold her first painting to an adoring fan, coincidentally her grandmother.
As she grew older, Treece’s love of art and science dovetailed into a blossoming medical career that began at the College of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
It was there that her artistic roots and anatomical interests resulted in an attraction to the surgical specialties and a residency with the LSU Department of Surgery at the former Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
During her years at legendary Charity Hospital, Dr. Treece was able to conduct and publish extensive research on the groundbreaking and innovative DIEP Flap breast reconstruction technique. After additional training at the Medical University of South Carolina Charleston in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, she entered private practice.
At Southern Aesthetics, Dr. Penelope Treece focuses on comprehensive rejuvenation of the body and of patients’ confidence. The practice offers an expansive list of surgical and non-surgical options for improving the body’s shape and appearance.
