It turns out, if you stay committed to a distinct make-up look (or non-look in my case), sooner or later you will be in vogue. I have successfully been forgoing makeup for years, not as any sort of statement, but as a practical matter. It gets in the way of my morning exercise routine. Fortuitously, the fashion set has recently pivoted away from the heavily contoured faces of past seasons and embraced a softer, more natural aesthetic. The fall 2024 designer runway shows by Stella McCartney, Chanel and Schiaparelli were proof positive that the no make-up – make-up look is here to stay. It’s now all about glowing skin, strong brows and nude lips. Finally, ahead of the beauty curve, albeit accidentally, I plan to fully commit to this fashionable non-look. Here are several product recommendations and techniques from About Face:Â
Apply Colorescience Total Eye Renewal Therapy under the eyes, followed by Colorescience tinted sunscreen and Bare Minerals Rescue Blush/Bronzer. Then, top it all off by dabbing a highlighter like Sigma or locally-owned Make Up by Meggan just above the cheek bones, the crescent around the outside of the eyes and the cupid’s bow. Apply Glo maximizing mascara for a bonus eye pop. Â
