The Association of Fundraising Professional’s Greater New Orleans Chapter held their annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Nov. 15, 2007.
The luncheon, held at and catered by the Sheraton Hotel, was co-chaired by Amanda Hoskins and Melissa Wells. The event set the stage for AFP to honor local philanthropists and volunteers for their contributions to the community.
AFP honorees included The Zemurray Foundation as Outstanding Foundation, Shell Exploration and Production Co. as Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist, Kay and Tim Favrot as Outstanding Philanthropists, Dr. Donald Faust as Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser, and Stanford Rosenthal as Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy. The Baptist Crossroads Foundation received the Board of Directors Award.
The Greater New Orleans chapter of the AFP has 155 members representing 118 local nonprofit organizations. The association holds 10 educational luncheon programs per year, a two-day educational conference, and produces a monthly e-newsletter.
