New Orleanians gathered to promote safety – sexual safety, that is – on Thursday, October 7, for “Safe Sex in the Big Easy,” presented by Planned Parenthood of Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta. The event was held at
the home of CeCe and Trevor Colhoun from 7 to 10 p.m. and featured cocktails and dinner by Joel Catering.
The cocktail-attire event also featured music by The Last Straws and a special raffle of a Sarah Ashley Longshore painting called “Audrey in the Sunlight,” an acrylic and mixed media work on canvas. Longshore, one of New Orleans Magazine’s past People to Watch, also provided artwork for the event invitations, a painting titled “Be Happy, Get Excited.”
Many people helped make this event possible, including board chairman Doreen Cronrath, gala chairperson Shane French MD, Margaret Sanger Circle members and the Host Committee, including Mimi and John
Bowen, Susan and Ralph 7Brennan and Olivia and Archie Manning.
This event is the primary fundraiser for Planned Parenthood of Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta, whose mission is to ensure the right and ability of all people to be in control of sexual and reproductive health and to have access to health services, education and advocacy.
