Traci Claussen is the owner of REpurposingNOLA, a unique business that arose out of a renovation project. Claussen got the idea of starting the business when she was renovating her apartment and had some extra bamboo flooring left over. She did not want to throw the bamboo away, so Claussen had folding chairs made from the surplus material. This project inspired Claussen to create REpurposingNOLA. This innovative business uses otherwise discarded materials as diverse as burlap coffee sacks, upholstery material, marine vinyl remnants and old Super Bowl banners to create a variety of items, including ladies' bags, dresses and tailgating aprons. In this podcast, Claussen describes how she has developed REpurposingNOLA into a successful line of truly made in New Orleans products.
