Donna Hildebrand is the volunteer coordinator for YMCA of Greater New Orleans' Home for the Holidays program. The program delivers meals on Thanksgiving Day to elderly and homebound people in Jefferson and Orleans Parishes. In 2012, more than 200 volunteers cooked, packed and delivered more than 1,000 meals to people who otherwise would not have had holiday dinners. If you would like to put a smile on someone's face for Thanksgiving and if you like to bake, Hildebrand is still accepting homemade desserts. For those who want to contribute in other ways, the Home for the Holidays program also accepts financial donations.
