NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Located in NOLA’s Warehouse District, Sofia is an Italian-inspired restaurant, featuring an elevated take on traditional cuisine in a fun and art-filled setting. Festival revelers heading home, back downtown or trying to get out of the Jazz Fest crowds can stop by Sofia for a quick bite, full dinner or nightcap. Chef Talia Diele’s menu offers a variety of family-style options perfect for large parties, including handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and a selection of shareable antipasti dishes.
Menu highlights include Fancy Toast with house-ricotta, clover honey, radish, fennel pollen and pea tendrils; Citrus Salad, with burrata, seasonal citrus, prosciutto, super seed crunch, green goddess dressing; Osso Buco, pork shank, red wine braise, creamy polenta, preserved tomatoes and gremoulata; Salsiccia Pizza with burrata, Italian sausage, garlic confit and chili flake; and much more. The spring beverage menu also has crowd pleasing options, including a ‘Build-Your-Own-Spritz’ program as well as festive large format Porron punches.
Open until 11:00pm, the Sofia team welcomes walk-ins and late night diners.
Festival goers looking to experience more of NOLA’s unique art scene can enjoy the restaurant’s mid-century modern design that was developed as an ode to Sophia Loren. The space is filled with elements that personify Loren’s natural femininity and iconic beauty. Artist David Gamble was commissioned to create two large Andy Warhol-style paintings of Loren that hang in the dining room under a dramatic chandelier made of broken plates and cutlery.
Sofia is located at 516 Julia Street. For more information or to make a reservation, please visit sofianola.com or call 504.322.3216.
