NEW ORLEANS – A hometown hero with world-class talent, Beignet, a dachshund mix, is proud to represent New Orleans in the annual Animal Planet Puppy Bowl on Feb. 11.
Born a runt of the litter, Beignet was nurtured and hand-fed by a volunteer at Take Paws Rescue – a volunteer, foster-based, non-profit rescue group based out of New Orleans. Through their love and devotion, Take Paws Rescue was able to keep this champion’s heart beating through turbulent times. Now seven months old and thriving, this cuddly competitor with a snoot for the spotlight was lucky enough to receive a chance to compete on sport’s biggest night in Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XX.
With an Olympian’s speed and a sled dog’s stamina, Beignet is sure to be a standout in a fierce and adorable competition. Like all great athletes, Beignet is not just playing for himself but for his adoptable friends back home at Take Paws Rescue, where dozens of top-talent pups are ready for their own call-up to a forever home.
We’ll certainly be cheering Beignet on along with all our friends at Take Paws Rescue as he’s set to bring gridiron glory back to New Orleans.
