As a teen working summers at her father’s company, Rachelle Albright began laying the foundation for what would become a successful and satisfying career in construction management. After earning a degree in Civil Engineering and working briefly in the oil industry, she returned to construction in 1996.
Now, as Owner of Albright Management Strategies, LLC, Rachelle serves as an owner’s representative and construction consultant—she holds over 25 years of experience in estimating, pre-construction services, project management, and executive leadership. Combined with her additional training in negotiation, scheduling, communications, and conflict resolution, her specialized knowledge and skill allow her to work efficiently and productively with owners, general contractors, and architects from a project’s start to its finish.
“Educating my clients during the phases of a construction project and fostering relationships is what truly motivates me,” says Rachelle. “While my clients are extremely experienced in their business and fields of work, some of them have never undertaken the role of an owner on a construction project,” she says. Understanding, evaluating, and navigating construction documents, contracts, schedules, and budgets are not easy tasks for an otherwise busy owner, which is why Rachelle often hears statements like, “I don’t know how we would have done this without you.”
According to Rachelle, one of the most critical phases of a construction project is the pre-construction phase—the development of plans and budgets. During this phase, one key goal for Albright is to evaluate the construction documents to ensure the owner’s project goals and objectives will be fulfilled. During the construction phase, the owner can then benefit from having Albright serve as their representative and administer many of the owner’s responsibilities.
“I am passionate about my ability during a construction project to create a teamwork environment amongst the owner, architect, and contractor,” says Rachelle. “Construction projects have specific goals such as completion dates, maintaining a budget, and achieving high standards of quality workmanship. Each team member plays a vital role in successfully fulfilling these goals,” she says.
Driven by the enthusiasm of the end users of her projects, Rachelle is inspired by the elation they experience upon seeing their vision become reality. In 2018, Albright embarked on projects for the Academy of the Sacred Heart and Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy. With the initial projects now complete, Albright is engaged again with the two schools on new projects.
“For me, repeat business is one of the greatest rewards,” says Rachelle.
