Raintree Children and Family Services hosted “Paint the Town Green” on March 26, bringing people together to support children’s services. The event started with a patron party hosted by Ruth’s Chris Steak House at 528 Fulton St. Tommy Cvitanovich of Drago’s also contributed his famous charbroiled oysters for patrons. After the patron party, everyone crossed the street to the theater at Harrah’s for the gala.

The gala featured a buffet provided by several of New Orleans’ finest restaurants. There was a live auction, as well as an “Art, Wine and Fine Dining” silent auction. People danced to the music of the energetic nine-piece band Burgundy.

Jamie Moreau chaired the event, helping Raintree to raise funds for its cause.

Raintree has several programs that benefit children and families in need, including: Raintree House, an Uptown home that shelters abused and neglected young girls; Family Services Coordination, which assists more than 240 families with children who have developmental disabilities; foster parent recruitment for children in need; after-school programs for at-risk youth; and attendant care services, which provide in-home care for people with disabilities.
