Raphael Village to Hold 10th Annual Tennis & Pickleball “Fun-Raiser” Oct. 5 & 6

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – On Saturday, Oct. 5, Raphael Village will host its 10th Annual Tennis & Pickleball “Fun-Raiser” to benefit the differently-abled community of New Orleans.

The tournament will take place at City Park Pepsi Tennis Courts at 5900 Marconi Dr. in New Orleans. Games will be played from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with higher skill level matches taking place later in the day. This fun-filled day will include delicious food from local vendors, refreshing libations, live music, a raffle, exciting competition, and more. The “Patron Village,” featuring front row seats and exclusive food and beverage offerings, will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All skill levels are welcome to participate and players will be matched equally based on their tennis and pickleball ratings. Tournament winners will receive luxury Champagne and all players will get complimentary Raphael Village swag. Registration costs $150 per tennis duo and pickleball players register individually for $65 a person. Spectator and Patron Village tickets are also available. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event. The marquee prize will be a $1,000 shopping spree at Little Miss Muffin Children & Home boutique. Food and beverage offerings will be provided by Midway Pizza, Jimmy John’s, The Dragonfly Café, Mockly Cocktails, Moises Wines and more. Rick Mocklin and the Southern Voice Band will be playing Motown, country and old-school favorites.

Raphael Village offers an adult day program called The Guild, for adults with exceptionalities who may have Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities. Established in 2013, The Guild provides post-secondary education including vocational and life-skills training, volunteering at local businesses, social opportunity, and self-expression through the arts. The Raphael Village Town Center is located in New Orleans’ Irish Channel neighborhood and includes a community café, vocational training classrooms, Guild artist studios, and more.
