When it comes to “what’s trending” in the bridal world, there’s one aspect of a wedding that you will only see in New Orleans. The Second Line is a centuries-old tradition rooted in the Black community. What began as neighborhood celebrations, the second line was also used as a part of funeral processions honoring those members of the community.
One form of revelry that has embraced the second line as a symbol of a New Orleans celebration is weddings. Many a bride, groom and bridal party opt to partake in the second line, complete with umbrella and brass band, either on their way to their reception from the ceremony or at the end of the reception to put a nice bow on a perfect evening.
Many of our New Orleans Bride Real Wedding couples have embraced the second line with style and grace.

Kinfolk Brass Band is a popular choice among couples, but others used DatBand, Sportys Brass Band and Knockaz Brass Band.
If you’re interested in a second line for your wedding, here are some things to consider.
