Lights, cameras, action! The glitz and glamour of Hollywood was on hand at the W New Orleans Hotel for the American Red Cross’ “Red Cross Red Carpet” Oscar-night party. To give the party a “reel world” feel, partygoers were greeted by a Joan Rivers impersonator and ”paparazzi” (actually local middle school students). Hosted by ABC-26 anchor/reporter Liz Reyes, the party also included a silent auction with New Orleans Saints paraphernalia, a Michael Jordan signed basketball, Sterling Vineyards Gold Standard Reserve Chardonnay and more. And the “Predict the Winner” contest—with results tallied by the Postlethwaite & Netterville Accounting Firm—proved be popular.
The ensuing evening was fashionable and festive, raising funds for the preparation, prevention and response to disasters in the Southeast Louisiana area.
