NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Ogden Museum is excited to bring kids a series of creative, engaging and, most importantly, a FUN experience this summer! We are thrilled to announce the opening of registration for Ogden Museum Online Summer Camp!
FINE ART FUNDAMENTALS CAMP
WITH MIKHAYLA HARRELL, MUSEUM EDUCATOR & TEACHING ARTIST
GRADES 2 – 5
SESSION ONE: JUNE 8 – 19
SESSION TWO: JUNE 22 – JULY 2
We designed this camp to maximize flexibility and choice for families. Before camp begins, the Ogden Museum will deliver an art-making kit to each camper’s door that includes all supplies needed for the projects, printed art activity guides, coloring pages and scavenger hunts. Live and recorded daily video interactions, teaching artist office hours and physical movement time will be offered multiple times during the camp day. Each session of Online Fine Art FUNdamentals camp will present a virtual celebration, complete with gallery tour and an exhibition opening, showcasing our campers’ artistic creations.
PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP
WITH AUBREY EDWARDS, PHOTOGRAPHER & TEACHING ARTIST
GRADES 6 – 12
JUNE 22 – JULY 2
Campers will spend the first week learning basic elements of photography including composition, exposure, storytelling and functions of their camera. In the second week, students will focus on more advanced areas of photography such as photojournalism, portraiture, lighting and photo-related technologies. During the program, campers will create a portfolio of edited work which will be celebrated at a virtual opening and gallery tour at the conclusion of camp. Specific information about the celebration will be communicated in June. Photography campers may use any type of digital camera (including phone cameras).
