NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Presented by the The National Medical Association and powered by Ochsner Health, this free event will focus on “STEM FEST” and will take place July 29. This is an opportunity for family fun & STEM Learning as we expose and inspire future Innovators, Creators, Makers and Entrepreneurs in New Orleans and surrounding areas! Attendees will learn about opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as they engage with more than 50+ STEM activities and demonstrations.
Scholars in grades K-12 will be able to build and test their own mechanical lung as well as engage in other STEM activities like making elephant toothpaste, slime, watching a live sheep heart dissection, riding a hovercraft and launching rockets. Throughout the morning, students will learn about things like wind energy, solar energy, coding, designing and programming robots.
All required materials will be provided when students arrive. This IN-PERSON STEM FEST will be held July 29 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Hyatt Regency (Ballrooms C + D) – 601 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113.
