Retail Spotlight: Rachel Jones & Katie PeraltaTriton Stone Group of New Orleans opened its doors to the public in July 2006.  Family owned and operated, Triton Stone Group is co-managed by Rachel Jones and Katie Peralta. The store offers 300 colors of natural stone in the warehouse, which can be used for “anything such as kitchens, baths, and other places,” says Peralta. “We also stock sinks, faucets and are now a distributor of TOTO toilets.” She also says the business, located in Harahan, caters to the needs of a wide range of clients, including homeowners, contractors, plumbers and “anyone and everyone who is interested in natural stone or any of our products.”

NOHL: What’s the first thing you discuss with a client?
Rachel: We like to find out if they are remodeling or building a new house, and then what type of stone they are interested in: granite, marble, travertine and onyx are a few of the different types we carry.

NOHL: What are some current trends that you’ve noticed?
Katie:
We’ve seen more and more people venture into different types of stones, as well as into different thicknesses and textures.
NOHL: What are some new specials or items that are hot this month?
Rachel:
We have just gotten in some of the new 5-cm thick granite and marble, which has been very popular. Also with TOTO toilets: we are having a sale on the new TOTO washlets, which is a toilet seat that functions like a bidet.

NOHL: What else makes the store unique from competitors?
Rachel:
We strive to give our customers many different options in their search for natural stone. We also want to be their one-stop shop, where they can come and get their kitchen countertops as well as their sink, faucet, toilet and bathtub. We have a dedicated sales team that personally assists each and every one of our customers.
